About Us With a story stretching back more than 30 years, Network Car Hire and Truck Rentals has grown from humble beginnings to become one of Australia's leading car and truck hire companies. It all started in 1981 when the business commenced under the name Rent-A-Ute; a small three vehicle fleet that operated from a local service station. After just three years, the ambitious owners began franchising and by 1990, Rent-A-Ute merged with Network Rent-A-Car; changing their name to Network Rentals, and experiencing exponential growth in the process. At this time, Network Rentals Pty Ltd became the only wholly Australian owned and operated national vehicle rental company in the country. Being Australian owned and operated is something that the business continues to draw pride from today. With over 50 locations managed by more than 20 franchisees in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria – the company is proud to be facilitating the employment of hundreds of Australians. In 2010, after a full management buyout (from part owners Motorama Group), Network Car Hire & Truck Rentals refocused the business to include both truck and car hire as its core services.
